Because You Can.

Just because you can
Doesn’t mean you should
Just because you planned
Doesn’t mean it’s good
Maybe what you wanted
Isn’t at all what it seemed
Maybe all you needed
Is bursting at the seams
To interrupt your day,
Your year, or even your whole life
But you would never see it
With clenched fists and closed eyes

So–take your security,
Your purity of purpose
And–hold it lightly,
Open hands
Realizing
There may be more
This open door
Doesn’t mean
You should go through it
You could do it, sure
But not all opportunities
Are good

And just because you can
Doesn’t mean you should
